How Admission & Enrollment Works at Thrive
Understanding the Application, Lottery, and Enrollment Process
At Thrive Center for Success, we strive to make the admissions process simple and transparent for every family. Because we are a tuition-free, public charter school, admission is open to all eligible students — but space is limited. Here’s how the process works:
Admission Application
During the open application window, families may submit the Charter Student Admission Application (CSAA) online.
Only the application form is required at this stage — no records, IEPs, or health information may be requested until after a student is offered enrollment, per TEA regulations.
When selecting your child’s grade level, choose the grade they will enter for the upcoming school year.
- Students currently enrolled in school: select their next grade level.
- Homeschooled or clinic-based students: choose the grade that best aligns with age and skill level.
- Children born between April and August may apply for either their age-appropriate grade or one grade lower, depending on readiness.
Lottery Process
Thrive conducts a random lottery to ensure a fair admissions process.
- The lottery is held after the close of the application window.
- Families are notified by email whether their child has been offered a seat or placed on a waitlist.
- If your child is waitlisted, don’t worry — spots often open as families finalize their decisions.
If the number of applications exceeds the number of available seats, a public lottery is conducted in compliance with Texas charter school law.
2026–2027 Lottery Date: February 6, 2026
Applications submitted between Dec. 1, 2025 – Feb. 1, 2026 will be included in the lottery.
Enrollment
If your child is offered a seat and you accept, the enrollment process begins. At this stage, Thrive may request:
Student health records
- Academic records
- Verification of address
- Past IEPs, if applicable
- Discipline records (if relevant)
Enrollment helps us individualize instruction, but it cannot be used to screen students during the application phase.
Non-Discrimination: Thrive’s admission policy may not discriminate based on sex, national origin, ethnicity, religion, disability, academic ability, artistic ability, athletic ability, or district of residence.
