En otoño de 2022, Thrive with Autism abrió su primera escuela pública innovadora con el objetivo de mejorar drásticamente la educación de los niños con trastorno del espectro autista. Thrive Center for Success es la primera escuela autónoma del estado de Texas dedicada a atender a una población con necesidades especiales. El papel

Thrive busca un líder visionario, emprendedor y orientado a resultados, con un historial comprobado de logros exitosos para adultos que trabajan con niños con necesidades especiales, para que se desempeñe como Director de Gestión de Apoyo Conductual. El Director de Apoyo Conductual sigue un calendario de 220 días laborales que comienza en julio.

The Director of Behavior Support Management will implement Thrive’s vision, model, and program while refining operational systems that leverage expansion, replication, and quality control. Thrive is drawing inspiration from a model called CABAS (Comprehensive Application of Behavior Analysis to Schooling), which will be integrated with the state curriculum (TEKS) and individual student IEP goals. The Director of Behavior Support Management will work with the leadership team to support student, staff, campus, and district outcomes. This position will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the Principal, CABAS Director, and other members of the administrative leadership team.

Education and Work Experience

• Masters’ degree or greater, preferably in field related to school leadership, special education and/or autism.

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification

• Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and implementing organizational support systems

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly with or supervising programs that serve Special Education students in an educational setting.

• At least two years in a role where majority of time is focused on instructional

leadership and/or management of adults (e.g., assistant principal; dean; principal; or equivalent). • A track record of achieving excellent outcomes for students; experience using data analysis to support decision-making.

• Strongly preferred certification as Texas teacher or Principal.

• Prior experience working in a charter school a plus.

• Proficiency in Spanish a plus.

• Pass a background check as required by the state of Texas.

 

Responsabilidades

Behavior Support Systems

• Develop expectations for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 behavior management.

• Serve as PBIS District Coordinator

• Support Connections Classroom needs

• Develop and support behavior tracking systems at the classroom and campus level

• Serve on campus Behavior Threat Assessment team

• Lead regular meetings to review Tier 3 behavior students and their functional progress

• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments as needed.

• Draft Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Behavior Response Plans (BRPs) as needed.

• Assist in district implementation of Zone of Regulation social skills curriculum.

Talent Management and Staff Development

• In collaboration with Executive Director and Principal, refine and implement thoughtful systems to develop, coach, and retain highly effective staff.

• Develop competency-based onboarding process for new hires, oversee ongoing implementation

• Lead and oversee daily activities for campus Behavior Support Team (BCBAs and Crisis Response Team)

• Develop systems for managing classroom, campus, and district behavior data

• Maintain daily and weekly meeting priorities and and running agendas for campus behavior support staff

• Serve as QBS Safety Care Trainer of Trainees

• Support CEUs and Supervision attainment for BCBA team as needed

Instructional Leadership

• Lead and evaluate instructional staff to ensure excellent teaching in each classroom, through consistent observations, feedback, coaching, data conversations, and effective evaluations.

• Complete Engagement Walkthroughs and CABAS Classroom Observations

• Attain T-TESS certification and serve as T-TESS calibration

• Work closely with CABAS Director to ensure CABAS classroom components are intact across all classrooms.

• Learn and internalize CABAS system through attainment of CABAS Ranks.

Parent Coordination

• Refine and implement thoughtful systems to support parents on school and home student behavior needs.

Student Culture & Parent Communication

• Create and implement school-wide positive incentive system for student behavior.

• Serve as RISE Crew coordinator.

Community Leadership

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, based on trust, open communication, and respect for all cultural identities.

Other duties as assigned

• Complete other strategic or implementation projects as assigned by the Principal or Executive Director.

Remuneración y beneficios

Compensation for this position begins at $90,000 and increases based on years of relevant experience, earned degrees, and current certifications.
